BEEHIVE BUS Here's a picture of our Beehive Bus. It sits proudly on our property by the barn and is a perfect spot for us to give people an inside look at a beehive, show them the equipment we use, and answer all sorts of questions. Come rain or shine, Behive Bus bustles with activity on tour days. Open for the full season, we welcome our guests to wander on in, look around, touch a bunch of stuff, and take some time to read about the honey bee. You might even see a few bees while you're at it.
After a visit to the Beehive Bus everyone in the tour group gets a little candle to take home.
Ode to a Candle
A candle’s but a simple thing; It starts with just a bit of string, Yet dipped and dipped with patient hand, It gathers wax upon the strand Until, complete and made just right It gives at last a lovely light.
Life seems so like that little string; The deeds we do, one simple thing. As each day comes on life’s long strand Good deeds are gathered by each hand. They make the darkest day glow bright Deeds and candles give us light.

We create and burn our beeswax candles every day because of their natural elegance. They have a clean, warm and rich flame, pleasant aroma and colour, and while being beautiful, also purify the air. As a source of negative ions they are safe for people with allergies and asthma and non-toxic in any environment.
Our candles are made from raw unprocessed wax. The wax is cleaned by lightly straining and settling; this will ensure that the fragrance and quality of the wax will not be damaged by being over processed. We guarantee that our candles are handmade making each one unique.
We make all our candles by hand, one at a time. We use cotton square braid wicks that burn especially well.
Burning beeswax candles
A taper candle will rarely leak on the sides. Pillar candles need more attention…some will burn for ages – often safely in spiritual places; some need to be “hugged” (folding some of the wax in along the edge closer to the wick); and some can only be burned for a few hours or they may leak over the side causing a mess and impairing the looks of a decorative candles. The wick should be trimmed to ¼ inch. Remember to never leave candles unattended.
“To be, or not to be: that is the question:” (William Shakespeare’s Hamlet 3/1) “To the bee or not to the bee? A question to ask.” (Board’s Honey Farm / Northern Nectars Collection © 2010)
