      Summer Days

Summer days are waning. The bees are doing a great job for us and we're crazy busy bringing in the honey for you to take home and for us to use to make our amazing products.

We'll be extracting pounds and pounds of honey over the next few weeks to fill our barrels with golden meadowblend, wildflower, basswood and rich Ontario buckwheat. All fantastic blends gathered from the idylic landscapes around the farm and throughout the Nipissing Region. Our buckwheat comes from Verner, ON. "it's the best", so say all you buckwheat honey lovers.

So, here comes September when the counstryside changes into glorious colours, the bees slow down, and a new season beckons.

The shop is open throughout the Fall.

THANKSGIVING WEEKEND SPECIAL!!

Bring your own container to fill

                at $3.00 / lb.

Get comb honey for a 'honey of a price'.

From late October until mid-December we're on the road bringing our honey products to Ottawa, Sudbury, North Bay and Guelph.

See you at our booth.

See our schedule for Fall shows.

Summer Markets

Look for us at:

The North Bay Farmers' Market on Saturdays

8:30 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Thanksgiving weekend is our last market day in North Bay.

Thanks to all who visited us at the Argyle Market this summer. See you next year!

Come for a Visit...

Visitors are welcome on our farm. Come to browse in our shop or take a stroll around the property following marked paths through the bush and past the gardens. There's a little play area for the kids, and the Bee Bus, too.

Bring family and friends, your curiousity and questions for an amazing summer experience.

Drop by anytime between 10:00-5:00 from May-October.

Perhaps our gardener will be at work or there will be a batch of something naturally good brewing on the stove in the big kitchen.

There's much to learn about the magnificent honey bee. Meet the beekeepers, visit an active beeyard and learn about the equipment used by the bees and us. Tours are over for this season, but keep us in mind for next summer. On tour day, Thursday during the summer months, try your hand at making a beeswax candle! See how the honey is extracted from the honey comb and lots more.

Our new product for this summer is Strawberry Creamed Honey! Locally picked strawberries dried and powdered by us are added to wildflower honey then creamed to be smooth. Delicious! It's now on the shelves in the honey shop.

Support Research for the Bees

Bees are critical insects to human survival and planetary health.

We are collecting donations to send to the Canadian Bee Research Fund (CBRF), a scientific organization focused on keeping bee populations healthy.

The Canadian Bee Research Fund (CBRF) is a charitable not for profit organization that is a joint project of the Canadian Association of Apiculturists and the Canadian Honey Council. Members of the Canadian Association of Professional Apiculturists (CAPA) study, educate and administrate in the fields of apiculture and pollination. CAPA members engage in diverse pursuits, including: research into the secrets of bee and pollination biology and conservation initiatives to encourage wild species of bees. For more information go to www.capabees.com.

Every little bit helps with many thanks from the honey farm and the researchers.
